Sometime back in June of 1999 I decided to set up Vampire LARP, whether this was due to temporary sanity, or not I don’t know. But that was the month I started to convert Vampire the Masquerade,2nd edition to a LARP system. Having played the Official Masquerade system before I opted to avoid it like the plague. Instead I went of a system I used to play a few years ago called Daughters of Twilight. However even that system had is flaws, so I set about the task of re-writing the rules.
On August 1st 1999 after Finishing the main rules and getting hold of enough clanbooks, I decided to start the timed in History. I came up with a history of what happened in the past, and started doing a daily diary of events in the World of Darkness, including some events of what is happening in the real world. This enabled me to construct a platform to run Vampire on and has now enabled me to start long running plots some of which will last for years.
In early September I started Timed in gaming sessions with just a hand full of players. These made up the Council of Primogen, after successfully getting the politics sorted out over the space of September and October. We then ventured into the realm of outside plots at the end of October. This I thought would be a complete disaster, but however the response I gained from the players was good. In fact one person ventured to say it, was the best night Vampire LARPing he had ever done.
Now in August 2000 we have started a Changeling LARP system in Bewdly near Kidderminster, Jon the Changeling man, who know everything there is to know about Fae, has converted a barebones system for use with the Vampire LARP system. And he has taken it upon himself to Run Changeling LARP in his own area.
Also up to August 2000 I have converted 3 Books for Changeling, 26 Books to the Vampire LARP system,3 World of Darkness books and 2 for Werewolf LARP, all rules in these books have been changed to be compatible with the system and then I have re-printed them for my personal use.
