Fae life in the west midlands has been frought with danger ever since the resurgence in 1969, the sheer amount of industrialism has kept most of the fae far off towards wales, though holdings do exist in the cities and towns, in 1995 that all changed, the Garou swept through the area, eliminating most of the vampire presence as well as several other undisirable elements, this coupled with conservation efforts have allowed the fae to return to the westmidlands proper, the garou posed no threat to the changeling population due to ancient friend ship and blood ties, the fae soon struck up alliances with the wolves,in two short months the fae had control of all the forgotten free holds and glens, they slowly worked society back round to protecting the greenary, and other places that had significance to the fae.
1999 hit and with it the return of the vampires, Garou activity in the having almost ceased , allowed the Kindred to return in small numbers, fortunatley the vampires were only interested in the cities , and major towns, well away from the hidden faery holds, even the holds in the cities were safe due to the presence of fae magic, now however the new duke has decided to contact the kindred, though his reasons have not been made public, the kindred seemed willing to respond in a friendley manner. then certain events in supernatural society cuased the Fae to severe contacts with the vampires, and even Garou, nothing woul be heard of them for 8 months.
The year is now 2000, the fae have good control over what they want, though there are occasional power struggles with local Vampires, fae society has once more retreated from overt actions, the numbers of kindred increasing slowly, new relations with the kindred are being attempted. The Duke has been very quiet and grants almost no audience, leaving the west midlands to his barons, business of a more urgent matter seems to call his attentions now.
Tragic news struck the fae, in july 2000, the duke died whilst abroad leaving a space for the title open, many candidate have stepped forwards.
A new duchess was found at the start of august, however many fae are concerned owing to the fact that she is a pooka, others seem to be on the power climb, hoping this duchess will prove easy to manipulate, only time will tell.
